1963 Rolex Submariner 5513 PCG Gilt Underline 3-6-9 Explorer Dial

Description

We are selling this ultra rare Rolex Sub on behalf of the original owner, who had this watch in a drawer for the last 36 years.

It features one of the rarest gilt dials the Submariner was ever fitted with: the thin Explorer-Coronet, 3-6-9 Explorer gilt dial with lower underline. The watch is in completely original condition with original 1530 butterfly movement and 10001XX serial case with pointed crown guards.

The watch has been left in "as found"-condition with some minor signs of wear on the case and on the acrylic crystal. The case back has some stronger marks of a non-adequate opening tool but it's perfectly functionning and screwing down. The case is still very strong and the serial and reference numbers are clearly visible between the lugs.

The beautiful "Swiss" dial has a nice patina with some even spotting and slight marks of the hour hand around the center. The original Radium is in very good condition on all indices and numerals.

The watch comes on its riveted 7206 Oyster bracelet with clasp marked 3 64 and number 80 end links.

These dial variation gets hardly ever on the market and if it does, it fetches usually between 200-250k US$ plus premium. The owner decided for a fast sale, thus we can offer it now for CHF 184000.00 or the equivalent in EUR, US$ or £ sterling. We reserve the right to sell to the highest bidder in case of several acquirers.
